Nancy Paris is the President and CEO of the Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education. In this position, she is responsible for oversight and guidance of staff to support the programs and initiatives of Georgia CORE and provides support to the Board of Directors. She has been instrumental in forging critical community relationships with government, private foundations, professional organizations, community advocacy groups, and survivor of cancer to elicit guidance and support for the initiatives of Georgia CORE. Ms. Paris is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Fellow of the Health Forum. She has a Master’s Degree in Health Policy and Administration from Mercer University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Georgia, and a certificate in Gerontology from Georgia State University. Ms. Paris has extensive experience in working in public and private, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations over more than 25 years. She served as the Vice-president and Interim President of the Georgia Cancer Coalition and President of the Saint Joseph’s Mercy Care Services, an organization dedicated to coordination and provision of a range of healthcare and social services to the homeless in the Metro Atlanta area. She is the Vice Chair of the Georgia Health Foundation, a funding agency for health initiatives created by the sale of a non-profit HMO. Ms. Paris has published numerous articles on community-based health care services, edited The Georgia CORE Directory, and served as a presenter at numerous state, national, and international meetings on the programs and accomplishments of the Georgia CORE initiatives. The knowledge, experience, and expertise related to statewide cancer care, community relationship building, and management of research program support personnel and systems will contribute to the success of the NCORP and support her qualifications to serve as a Co-Director on Executive Committee and management role for the Operations and Data Management Core for the Community Site.
